Maintenance and Servicing

It is recommended that your solar installation be serviced every year:

  • To ensure the system won't break down because of lack of care

  • To respect the warranty clause you have with the manufacturer or installer

  • To clean panels and be made aware of shading issues created by trees or plants

Solar Panels on a Tracking System:

Solar panels that are mounted onto trackers require a yearly check-up to ensure the tracking is working properly, and to allow the tracking system to be greased and maintained. The tracking needs to work properly for the panels to be efficient.

Solar Panels and Local Wildlife:

If your home is surrounded by trees and there is access to the roof, your solar installation should be inspected to ensure rodents, possums or birds have not been nesting under your panels. These lovely animals are one of the primary reasons for solar system failure, as they can chew through cabling - creating an electrical hazard, and the need to replace wiring - which can be both dangerous, and/or a costly procedure. We are able to animal-proof your system by installing custom-built steel meshing around your system, ensuring animals are not able to access the underside of your panels.

Solar with battery:

Solar installations with batteries (especially those with lead acid batteries) need to be checked and maintained, because one faulty battery will affect the others and it can undermine your full battery bank.

Solar with back up generator:

Your back-up Generator is a thermic engine like your car, and this technology needs to be looked after, so that your Genie is working for when you need it.
